Held the first Tuesday in May, Midlands Gives is an 18-hour online giving event sponsored by Central Carolina Community Foundation. This giving day brings the region together as one, raising money and awareness for local non-profits in 11 Midlands counties. Your contribution, of every size, makes a meaningful difference in our ability to fulfill our mission. While Howser enjoyed furthering the home’s midcentury aesthetic, he made sure to keep the original finishes, even the shag carpet, intact. “The kitchen was something straight out of the mid-1960s, all the way down to the Dishmaster Faucet,” Olsen says.

24 Season

The talents of local craftsmen in woodworking and masonry were used throughout the construction. Mac McAnally is a Grammy®-nominated singer-songwriter hailed for his mastery of multiple instruments and captivating lyrics. He has written dozens of hit records for other artists, several of which peaked at #1.

Newberry Opera House Season Brochure 2021-2022

The Newberry Opera House is a 501(c)(3) organization operated by the Newberry Opera House Foundation. As a nonprofit and community institution, the Opera House is also a place for public meetings, school performances, and local artist opportunities. In order to make sure that the Opera House is serving the whole community, an initiative called Newberry Arts for All (NAFA) was created. It sponsors free outdoor concerts, ticket scholarships, student performances, and a summer Astronaut STEAM camp.

Newberry Opera House Season Brochure 2020-2021

After the City of Newberry vacated the building in the mid 1990s, the Newberry Opera House Foundation was established to assess restoration. Recognizing the lack of performance spaces in the Midlands, it consulted with experts about a proposed project. Since proceeding with a restoration plan, it has managed fundraising and operations of the facility, which it leases from the city. By 1959, there was talk about tearing the building down, but the hall was still used for community purposes, and the city used the first floor. In 1969, the Newberry Historical Society promoted the preservation of the Opera House, as did several other community groups. In 1970, the building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

2022 Season Announcement

The Opera House has been a part of the Newberry community for over 100 years. In 1952 with the showing of The Outlaw, the Opera House closed as a movie theater. By 1959, there was talk of tearing it down, but a public outcry stopped the wrecking ball. In 1969, the Newberry Historical Society promoted the preservation of the Opera House, as did several other community groups and in 1970 the building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Talk of restoring the building as a performing arts venue was ongoing through the 1970s and 1980s. They knew that restoration required significant planning and resources so they established the Opera House Foundation to study the feasibility of restoration.

In one order purchase four shows and save 10%, eight shows and save 15% or twelve shows for a 20% discount; performances must be purchased together. This season boasts a wide array of talent from Country favorites to Family Adventure events. Taking the stage will be Robert Earl Keen, SC’s own Blue Dogs, and Dailey & Vincent. Plus, don’t miss the free community concerts “Under The Canopy” with Spanish Brass in November and the Quebe Sisters in May. In 1952, after the showing of The Outlaw, the Opera House was closed as a movie theater. During the movie era, the original horseshoe-shaped balcony was reduced in size, this restricted seating across the back of the auditorium to blacks only; the state had racial segregation in facilities.

Séance Meets Magic is a Summoning Spirits event combining freaky magic with masterful storytelling on April 28. A Texas-born Country singer/rapper, Troy Coleman, known as Cowboy Troy will rock the stage on April 29. This infusion of artists and visitors into the community has led to an economic rebirth and a growing reputation for Newberry as an arts center and arts destination. Hotels, restaurants, specialty shops, antique malls, a variety of art galleries and studios, and art programs for children and adults – all are part of the impact of the Opera House. The Opera House was used not only by professional performers but also by the community. Meetings, dances, college commencement exercises, and musicals were held in the spacious auditorium.

The hall was also used for community events, such as meetings, dances, and college commencement exercises. When "moving pictures" came on the scene in the early 1900s, the Newberry Opera House showed them, and in the 1920s was remodeled as a movie theater. In 1952, the opera house closed as a movie theater, and by the late 1950s there was talk of tearing it down. But thanks to public outcry and the efforts of the Newberry Historical Society, the Newberry Opera House was preserved. In 1996, the town undertook an extensive renovation of the building that added 10,000 square feet of space and transformed it, once again, into a state-of-the-art performance facility. The Newberry Opera House hosts dozens of performances each year from musicals and operas, to rock concerts and beach tunes.

In 1996, the town undertook an extensive renovation of the opera house that added 10,000 square feet of space and transformed it, once again, into a state-of-the-art performance facility. The opera house now hosts dozens of musical performances each year in genres ranging from classical to gospel, bluegrass to beach music. It is also used for performances by Newberry College and other community institutions. Designed in the French Gothic style, the first floor of the building was used by the town government for offices, a jail, and the fire company, which had one engine there. The upper floor was designed as a theater and supporting spaces.

The sink was just one of the pieces that was refurbished (Dishmaster Faucets are still manufactured to the original specifications) during the university’s six-month, $500,000 restoration. Ultimately, the architect says, it was the theft of Wallace’s machinery from the structure that compelled the draftsman to sell the property. “He sort of lost interest in the whole thing because he wanted to retire out there and have the blades and reinvent everything because that’s who he was,” Bissner explains. After a brief period of ownership by British developer Richard Bailey, Howser purchased the property in 2003. At its core, the Volcano House is a reflection of the desert on which it is sited, simultaneously serving as a window to the skies.

The Opera House quickly became known as "the entertainment center of the Midlands". Touring companies of New York City plays, minstrel and variety shows, famed vocalists and lecturers, magicians and mind readers, novelty acts and boxing exhibitions all were featured there. It was used not only by professional performers, but also by the community for meetings, dances, college commencement exercises, and musicals. Notable artists, such as Edwin Booth, John Barrymore and his family, and Tallulah Bankhead are known to have performed there.

The second floor was a hall 53 by 52 feet with a stage 29 by 52 feet. In connection with the hall were a ticket office, a “green room”, a cloakroom, and three dressing rooms. Centrally located in historic downtown Newberry, SC, the Newberry Opera House is the destination for entertainment in the Midlands of SC and beyond.

Perhaps the current or a future owner can complete Bissner’s vision, install the fountains based on the original design. Or maybe that’s the story of the Volcano House, left incomplete as a byproduct of the desert, becoming more a part of the environment in which it’s placed the longer it goes untouched. The Newberry Opera House strives to enhance the cultural and economic development of Newberry and the Midlands through the window of the arts. We are committed to fostering a sense of community engagement where the arts are accessible to all. Explore beyond the stage — discover local attractions and venues. Navigate the quaint streets of downtown Newberry effortlessly as you locate designated parking areas strategically placed for your convenience. Some performances feature a single ticket price, while others have three-tiered pricing. We invite you to rediscover your vital role as Midlands Gives draws near.

Also on this floor were a ticket office, a "green room", a cloakroom, and three dressing rooms. Drop curtains and seven scenes or sets for the stage were available. Movement artist Charles “Lil’ Buck” Riley will showcase his freestyle-based dance called Memphis Jookin’ on April 5. At the Opera House for their only stop in South Carolina, the Queens Six direct from England make their way to the stage on April 19. Their repertoire spans Sacred and Secular music from the Middle Ages to the present day! Peter Boie brings to life old legends and haunted stories on stage!

While raw wood isn't necessarily groundbreaking when it comes to farmhouse design, including broad tonal shifts in the material is something new to consider. Try incorporating the entire gamut of wood finishes—from ultralight to dark ebony—in your space. Wood grains naturally complement each other, no matter the color, so it's hard to go wrong.

Modern Farmhouse Plans & Traditional Farmhouse Floor Plans

Who has time for finicky landscapes when you work from sun up to sun down? To channel the traditional farmhouse ethos, keep your landscape uncluttered and free of excess. Below, you’ll find farmhouse kitchen décor ideas that will help you create the cooking space of your dreams. We already mentioned the existence of various farmhouse styles as the interior trends have changed. What we can define in this section are the key elements that farmhouse interior design incorporates, whether it leans more on traditional or modern vibes.

Accent With Moody Paint

Another important aspect of modern farmhouse house plans is their efficient use of space. These homes are typically designed with an open floor plan, with the kitchen, dining room, and living room areas all connected in one large, communal space. This creates a sense of flow and connectivity between the different areas of the home, making it easy to entertain guests or keep an eye on children while preparing meals through the open kitchen. I Additional bedrooms may be available according to the house plan on the second floor or even on the first floor or main floor. A modern farmhouse design for exteriors is an excellent mix of both modern and traditional details.

Gather Décor From Nature

A classic farmhouse look captures the essence of rustic simplicity and practicality. This style is characterized by weathered wood and vintage accents, which evoke nostalgia and warmth. In a farmhouse vibe, you can feel the warmth and coziness that instantly make the room feel like home. A rustic wall décor, natural materials, and earthy colors foster a sense of comfort for homeowners and guests. One of the defining elements of farmhouse design is its “messy” elegance. Decorations within a farmhouse-themed space tend to be both messy and minimalistic, focusing on practicality and functionality rather than excessive décor.

History of farmhouse style homes

Finish the basement for additional space to build a workshop, workout room, or secondary family room. Fans on social media beg Jon and Kristina to renovate their farmhouses in far-flung locations ("I wish you could come to Odessa Texas and redo my 70-80’s ranch house!" and "I wish you would travel to Canada…"). Kristina's design business takes her across the country, but, for the logistics of a TV show, it's necessary to keep things close to home. Small farmhouse design is the cheapest as generally these houses are defined as square footage between 100 and 500 square feet.

Add a big mirror and antique ornaments

We're used to transforming a room with paint and patterned wallpaper, but textured materials, interesting objects and treasured heirlooms can all breathe new life into a space. So while a modern farmhouse palette may focus on shades of cream, taupe, beige and white, there's room for a buttery yellow in the scheme, too. 'The beauty of bookshelves is that they can fill an entire wall, or simply slot into an awkward nook to create interest and drama,' suggests Country Homes & Interiors editor, Andréa Childs.

The thing is, if you’re decorating in the antique farmhouse style, you don’t actually need to fix it up. By leaving worn-in upholstery as is, you can add loads of texture to your space. Farmhouse décor is a unique interior design that originates from the rustic charm of rural living in the 1800s.

This Southern Piedmont-style farmhouse has two-story gables, fieldstone chimneys, and standing-seam tin roofs. In short, it has all the details you'd expect from an old farmhouse. The primary bedroom is especially cozy thanks to a private fireplace. This house has more than enough space to meet your family's preferences, but the option of finishing the walkout basements leaves an opportunity for future expansion.

Contemporary Take on a Farmhouse (Modern)

design for farmhouse

Whether you are building a new home from scratch or renovating an existing property, farmhouse home plans are worth considering for their charm and livability. We offer several different styles and house plans with a variety of bedrooms and baths and in differing amounts of square feet. Common elements of modern farmhouse design are reclaimed wood, comfortable furniture, wrought iron accents, vintage accessories, pine furniture and architectural salvage. You can use brick interiors and stone flooring in the bathrooms which will take you back to the unconventional traditional design of farmhouses in Indian villages. In these farmhouse designs by Indian architects, provisions are kept for both the old and modern eras and you can also keep an additional bathing space just like old times. Bring farmhouse style to every room of the home, including the bathroom.

When it comes to finalizing your farmhouse decor and farmhouse kitchen lighting ideas, you can take a softer approach. 'I think the concept of modern farmhouse is all about taking the traditional farmhouse vibe and making it your own,' explains Los Angeles designer, Kate Lester. 'To me, farmhouse is about craft, working with your hands, using indigenous materials and then spicing things up with some color,' says Boston-based interior designer, Liz Caan.

Paint colors like cream, sage green, light blue, and beige add color without overwhelming. Something about an A-frame bedroom gives us major farmhouse vibes. Ashley Gilbreath, designer of this Dothan, Alabama, farmhouse, suggests trying a large light fixture in spaces with high or unconventional ceilings to add a warm, full feeling. "It helps draw your eye upward and balances the empty space up top," she says.

Provide adequate drainage around the area to prevent it from drying. While one green roof won’t save the environment, millions can help big time. They are made of natural and recycled materials and heat up the home naturally. It’s perfect for taking a load off, enjoying a breeze, listening to cicadas, and sipping something refreshing on a hot day.

First constructed out of necessity, old-fashioned farmhouse plans were built to be sturdy and purposeful. Today's modern farmhouse plans have comfortable, inviting designs, allowing the home to become the property's focal point. For this Vipp Farmhouse, interior designer Julie Cloos Mølsgaard has created a modern farmhouse that combines historical charm with modern convenience, displaying both functional finesse and interesting art finds.

23 Antique Farmhouse Décor & Design Ideas to Try

design for farmhouse

Brackett specifically recommends “repurposing antiques from different periods” for a layered, textured look. “There is so much wonderful history to farmhouses, and every original element should be repurposed if possible,” Brackett says. Existing natives such as yaupon holly, magnolia, and cedar were replicated over the course of landscape architect Paul Freeman’s efforts. Fresh additions include windmill palms to boost the site’s tropical verve. A sophisticated residence in Arcadia, Arizona, takes on an air of sophistication, thanks to clean lines and a sleek mix of stone and stucco. With a variety of outdoor entertaining spaces, the backyard also serves as a fun place to host guests for dinner parties or for an evening of stargazing.

Embracing Wine Country

Raw wood remains an enduring choice for interiors and is the ideal for almost anything –from flooring to bringing warmth and character to the kitchen. If you have a farmhouse property, the best place to start is by looking at what you already have. Adding color works well in a kitchen, where cabinets and farmhouse kitchen island ideas can easily be painted and a lively decor scheme fits with the busy atmosphere. Search out a hue or a colorful kitchen idea that fits with the natural farmhouse aesthetic – sunny yellow, cornflower blue and grassy green all tick the color box. 'I think it’s really important to push the boundaries and introduce juxtaposition with textiles, patterns and artwork that may not feel traditionally "farmhouse-Inspired"', says interior designer, Kate Lester.

Hang an amazing light fixture

We can all do our bit for the environment by including features in our farmhouse design ideas and making it an eco-friendly house. Anything we can do to reduce carbon emissions is of utmost importance in our world. The clay bricks can have varied tones depending on the material with which they will be built, and the process with which the clay brick will be baked. It is advisable to buy the bricks from the factory that makes them, so you will get the best prices. This is one of the best low-cost farmhouse designs if you are looking for one. Whether in the kitchen, laundry room, or bathroom, a skirted sink adds character and whimsy.

Choose Charming Chairs

These ideas will help you transform each room into a haven of comfort and style. But it’s up to you to decide what makes your house feel cozy and functional. Keep things fresh and clean with whites throughout, but integrate creams, grays and maybe a few pastels like blush pink and sage green, to add the warmth that modern farmhouse requires.

This zone has a star-shaped roof designed out of cane to give it an organic and earthy feel of traditional small farmhouse design in India. The inside is designed as baithak on both sides These are further added with soft, bright cushions to have a light chat with friends and family. While most people have changed their mindsets, there are some people who still like to invest in the traditional design of farmhouses in Indian villages.

Paint walls in a neutral color palette

Add little curtains to the windows with your favorite vintage-inspired fabric to add extra appeal. A few frames on the walls and a couple of wicker baskets should finish off the cute-as-can-be laundry room. Don't be afraid to use different washes of soft color in your wood selections to create an all-over rustic look.

History of farmhouse style homes

Slat-back chairs from Lucca Antiques and a console from Big Daddy Antiques join a custom tufted ottoman in a Rose Tarlow Melrose House leather. Going back in time, the American Farmhouse reflects a simpler era when families gathered in the open kitchen and living room. This version of the Country Home usually has bedrooms clustered together and features the friendly porch or porches. One important aspect to consider, when decorating with neutrals is to bring in as much texture as possible as it creates interest and layers – important factors when strong colors are out of the picture. Consider pairing this cozy palette with raw materials, such as wood and sisal for added texture and interest. Kitchen lighting can be harsh, or major on sleek and shiny surfaces.

While window treatment ideas may be necessary for warmth and privacy, there's no denying that keeping frames free from drapes, blinds and shutters can allow natural light to flood into a farmhouse property. Create a simple, serene home office with white walls and pared-back furniture, putting the focus on mindfulness and the task in hand. The picture here may be the only actual 'wall decor' but it's the combination of the artwork, cabinet, lamp and decorative elements that unite together as one to create a single effective display. Decorating with books and designing a library wall will bring color, texture and personality to the space – and all you need are your well-thumbed paperbacks. Adding impactful texture, visual interest and natural charm to a space, an original beamed ceiling can delightfully display the true bones and history of a home.

From the countertops, to the wooden beams, to the shelves, all wood finishes could have slightly different washes that create interest in the room. Get into the details and find wooden bowls, utensils, and trays like those in this kitchen for an added rustic touch. Commonly used in antiques, wrought iron bestows spaces with a pastoral feel. Try incorporating it into at least two elements, such as a lighting fixture and piece of furniture, for maximum effect. Don’t be afraid to play with more classic, darker colors, like navy or forest green. “I also think using more earth-tone colors lends itself to the antique farmhouse look,” she says.

Invest in a rustic sideboard or console table and adorn with a vase of fresh greenery for a true farmhouse feel. This dining room features the Griffin Reclaimed Wood Dining Table by Pottery Barn, which adds a warming contrast to the light, bright and white interior. The metal legs on the table and matching bench add an industrial edge to the piece, with the design perfect for both classic and contemporary spaces. True to the name, the farmhouse design style has its roots in actual farmhouses or shelters that were built specifically for farmers. Though homes on farmlands have existed for as long as farmers have, many attribute the traditional farmhouses in Europe from the 16th and 17th centuries as the inspiration for this specific aesthetic.

For example, displaying ceramic adornments, hanging antique art, and old frames are just a few farmhouse decorating ideas to keep in mind. In kitchens, use large farmhouse kitchen islands and kitchen tables to encourage family and friends to linger. The additions of benches at tables for guests to pile on, or a few bar stools on the island emphasize the ‘tuck in’ feel. The use of concrete, exposed bricks, light fittings and pipes are all ideal for creating that industrial look, which links in perfectly with modern farmhouse. This looks back to classic rustic styling, and acts as a cool contrast to the warm neutrals and use of soft materials in the home, situating the theme delicately on the boundary between trad and modern.

So here we bring you a traditional Indian farmhouse design that makes use of Indian architecture and layout. It has possibly incorporated all traditional farmhouse designs by Indian architects that constantly remind us of the bygone eras. Neutral, earthy colors are timeless and overlap a home's interior with its natural surroundings. The muted hues make a good backdrop for blending old and new rustic finds while retaining the authentic farmhouse aesthetic.

It’s the spot to relax after gardening, enjoy a meal, or entertain company. Flowers, blankets, pillows, lighting, and of course a spot for sweet tea create an outdoor room you’ll never want to leave. Make any dining space feel casual and homey by letting in all of the natural light possible. Sheer café curtains hung just above the bottom sash give softness and privacy—all while still allowing a view of the outside and inviting lots of sunlight to stream in through the upper panes. Embrace the roughed-up look that antique treasures—found at estate sales, flea markets, and the like—bring to your home.

As a resident of Istanbul, I can definitely say traveling on the Bosphorus is one of my favorite modes of transportation. The Bosphorus is an incredible waterway that separates Europe from Asia and it is home to some of the most beautiful sights in Turkey.

day cruises on Norwegian Jade from Miami

Virgin Voyages aimed to be a disrupter in the cruise market from the beginning — creating a product designed to please even those who claim they would never set foot on a cruise ship. Yet the itinerary for this four-night Bahamas cruise on Scarlet Lady is fairly ordinary. Ports of call include Key West and a private beach club on the Bahamian island of Bimini.

Families, couples and friend groups will appreciate the unstructured nature of a Norwegian cruise. The line's "freestyle cruising" mantra — cruising without rigid dining schedules, dress codes and formal nights — is perfectly suited for short sailings. With a wide range of eateries and no assigned seating times, passengers have lots of flexibility for their limited time at sea. From first-timers to veteran cruisers, anyone looking for a short but fun-filled hop to the Bahamas should give Freedom of the Seas a look. Families looking for a quick escape will find entertainment and activities for toddlers to teens. The ship is also ideal for family reunions, bachelorette parties and birthday cruises.

Diners at the Worlds of Marvel restaurant take part in an interactive Avengers-themed experience through videos and special effects. Utopia of the Seas' inaugural voyage is set for July 22, 2024, and will be a four-night cruise to Nassau and the line's private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay. The second sailing will be a three-night cruise to the Bahamas that departs on July 26, 2024. Plus, logistics for cruising out of Miami are simple enough for even first-time cruisers. From flight choices to pre- or post-cruise hotels, it's a city that caters to tourists, especially the cruising ones. Obviously, Parrotheads are gonna want to try this ship, with all its Jimmy Buffett-inspired themes and decor, but it's also a good trial run for anyone on the fence about cruising.

After the cruise, you can even choose where you’re dropped off to make the most of your time, which is a great feature here in Istanbul. Lotus Yachts offers a unique way to explore Istanbul and its surroundings. When booking, always remember to ask about any additional costs, such as meals, transportation to the dock, or the tour guide. Two eight-night voyages out of New York City include stops at Freeport, Nassau and Half Moon Cay. This is the best Bahamas cruise for the non-cruiser who is either young at heart or young and eager to party aboard this glitzy ship.

The feast of delights begins with a range of excellent appetizers, followed by the main meal with three alternatives. The grand finale will feature the world-renowned mixed Turkish desserts and seasonal fruits. No problem - just type in where you're going and you'll find all the tours in that area. Fired up on Regent Seven Seas Grandeur cooking class: Travel Weekly

regent seven seas cruise

Travelers could spend a good afternoon wandering hallways and public spaces, akin to visiting a museum. Regent Seven Seas Cruises is the world's only cruise line that includes unlimited shore excursions in every port. This doesn't just make this luxury line good value for money, it also means Regent is ideal for genuine travellers who are citizens of the world and seek to engage more deeply with the destinations they visit, rather than simply ticking sights and attractions off a list. If you enjoy luxury cruising and staying in high-end hotels when you travel, you'll feel right at home on this all-inclusive cruise line.

The 2 types of Regent Seven Seas Cruises ships, explained

While not strictly an adults-only cruise line, Regent cruises are best for adults traveling without small children. The Club Mariner children’s program (for ages 5-17) is available on select sailings, but with many adult-focused spaces and entertainment, this ship is better suited for travelers without little ones. Finally, join the 2026 World Cruise – The Sense of Adventure – which embarks from PortMiami, Florida, and discovers incredible destinations in the Americas, South Pacific, Australia & New Zealand, Asia, Africa, and Europe.

Universal ticket offer: Florida resident 2-day passes good for 4 days

Though high fares mean passengers must be well-heeled to sail on Voyager, we found our fellow passengers to be surprisingly down-to-earth and friendly -- not the jet-setter types who flaunt their wealth. With some impressive deals to help you cruise more often, there's never been a better time to set sail with Regent Seven Seas Cruises. For example, the line's latest 'Upgrade Your Horizon' promotion includes up to a double category suite upgrade and 7.5% reduced deposits on hundreds of cruises. Plus, you can save up to 50 per cent on more than 80 destination-immersive sailings around the globe. If you can bring yourself to get off your beautiful ship, you'll be spoiled for choice with an impressive array of immersive tours and experiences.

Where does Seven Seas Voyager sail to?

In January 2016, an USD 125 million drydock refurbishment plan was revealed for 3 ships in the RSSC fleet. The aim was to bring the vessels in line with the new Seven Seas Explorer (launched in 2016). The 2-year fleet upgrade plan started with the smallest 490-passenger Seven Seas Navigator (April 2016). On June 6, 2022, NCLH announced an expansion of its fleetwide sustainability program "Sail & Sustain". Extending its animal welfare policy, the shipowner is now fully committed to responsible animal food sourcing practices (regarding pork, chicken, eggs, and seafood) within the global fleet's supply chain.

Then hop on a boat to the Islas del Rosario and the island of San Martín de Pajarales or choose to cruise the inner bay on the beautiful Spanish Galleon, a replica of a 17th-century sailing ship. But as simple as pasta may seem to make, even the more experienced cooks in the class lapped up some of Stephano's tips to make it better. Seven Seas Navigator offers sailings in the Mediterranean and northern Europe before heading to Africa and the Middle East. In December 2025, Navigator will sail to the Indian sub-continent, Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, followed by a journey through the South Pacific before returning to the Mediterranean. Join the 64-day Indian Ocean Odyssey journey, which takes you on a discovery of the Southeast coast of Africa, Arabia, the Mediterranean, Greece, Turkey, and Italy.

In the hourlong class, the lemon pasta and crepes my fellow students and I made were a success, aside from a few burnt crepes. Chef John Stephano guided our group through recipes for pasta al limone and French crepes with a rapid-fire, friendly and energetic approach. The Seven Seas Grandeur debuted for Regent Seven Seas Cruises late last year as the third ship in a class that launched in 2016 with the Seven Seas Explorer. Lowest pricing is based on our 3rd party pricing supplier and valid as of April 21st, 2024. Split between Decks 4 and 5 is the Constellation Theater, the main entertainment venue where guests can watch four Broadway-style shows.

They offer life, color and beauty while providing passage to the great wonders of our world in a way unlike any other. From music, history and the culinary arts to wildlife and adventure, there are amazing memories to be created in every destination, whatever your interest. Join us on some of our favorite excursions as we sail around the world to engage each destination in its most glorious state.

Over 130 new dishes were added to the menus on Grandeur, and there are more than 200 plant-based options served across the ship for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Compass Rose, Regent’s signature restaurant, received a gorgeous transformation by Studio DADO for Grandeur; behind a metal waterfall-like sculpture, guests will find an illuminated dining room that resembles a magical forest. It’s part of a 1,600-piece art collection that includes classic black-and-white photos from global destinations adorning the hallways between cabins to the steakhouse’s original Picassos.

Prime 7 is the ship’s steakhouse, redesigned with influences from New York City’s classic 20th-century steakhouses. Chartreuse celebrates classic French cooking and glamour with a dining room inspired by the Parisian metro’s art nouveau stations and Coco Chanel’s designs. The entrance to Pacific Rim, a pan-Asian specialty restaurant serving sushi, dim sum, and more, is marked by an impressive bonsai cherry tree sculpture by Savoy Studios.

Please view our advertising policy and product review methodology for more information. The newest of the ships, the 2003-built Seven Seas Voyager, measures 42,363 tons, which is about 12% smaller than the slightly older, 48,075-ton Seven Seas Mariner. The three ships in the simply named Small Cruise Ship Class are considerably older than the line's Explorer Class ships and aren't quite as big — or opulent — as their sisters. Multiple bars and lounges on these vessels in recent years have embraced the trend of ever-quirkier craft drinks.

regent seven seas cruise

The Regent brand serves a clientele of predominantly affluent, middle-aged and older travelers, who expect a quiet and relaxing atmosphere and sophistication on board. RSSC's all-inclusive vacation packages offer care-free world cruising in an ambiance of luxury, quality, and value. For everyone on board is the spa with an infinity pool that looks out over the stern, fitness center, jogging track, casino, several lounges, card room, library and main pool. The luxury pedigree that Regent Seven Seas welcomed with Seven Seas Explorer in 2016 continued with sister ship Seven Seas Splendor in 2020, but the third and final sister Seven Seas Grandeur offers up the best of class. Beverages are also included, aside from a few ultra-premium liquors and high-end wines.

Since an exceptional roster of excursions is included in the fare, passengers take advantage of them all day in port. This also means they get to know one another more than on many other cruises, so there is quite a bit of social gathering on the ship. The entertainment is pretty traditional, with passengers enjoying Broadway-type productions, trivia contests, live music performances, culinary classes and educational lectures on the history and culture of the region.

(Each also has an equally stunning price tag of $11,000 per night.) Each of the ships also has a dozen more suites that measure in the 1,000-square-foot to 2,000-square-foot range, as well as additional accommodations in the 500-square-foot to 1,000-square-foot range. As is often the case in the luxury cruise market, every cabin on these ships is a suite with a balcony (something that is also true for two of the line's three older ships). Even the smallest of the accommodations measures 307 square feet, which is not too shabby for a cruise ship.

The smaller Seven Seas Navigator, which holds just 490 passengers, has all of the same eateries above, too, with the exception of Chartreuse. Built over the past decade, the Explorer Class ships are the line's newest, biggest and most elegant vessels. The Small Cruise Ship Class ships are much older vessels and, as the class name suggests, the smallest ships in the Regent fleet. Among cruise lines that focus on high-priced luxury trips, Regent Seven Seas Cruises has one of the easiest-to-understand fleets. Forage for delectable items with our chef at the Central Market of Casablanca to use during your 90-minute Moroccan on-board cooking class.

Cruise Critic's cruise industry news focuses on cruise lines, such as updated policies and partnerships, as well as cruise ships, ranging from the latest on updated itineraries to the newest and best ships on the oceans (and rivers) today. At the time, it was difficult to imagine how the ships, which carry millions of passengers around the world each year, would be able to sail safely again. For water sports like kayaking, consider a dry bag to stow your camera gear, smartphone and wallet and prevent them from getting wet. Waterproof cases for your cellphone and camera are also useful, as well as "beach wallets" that let you go into the water with your credit cards and cash on your person. First-time cruisers don't realize all the cruise ship cabin hacks they can employ to enhance their onboard accommodations. Usually, all you need to pack are a few key items from home. Elegant or formal nights bring out cocktail dresses, suits, ties and jackets. If formalwear is not your thing, choose room service, or go to the buffet or a casual restaurant for dinner to skip dressing up.

I’m so happy you’re here!

This can get bulky, especially if you’re living the carryon life, so wear as many layers as you can when flying to your departure destination. At the very least, a rolled-up alpaca sweater makes a wonderful pillow. And, if you’re really looking to cruise smarter, see why travel protection is crucial for your cruise. Miscellaneous items to pack for your cruise

Every airline has carry-on allowances that restrict the size and amount of luggage that each passenger can bring onboard. If your carry-on luggage is too large, it will be placed in the hold and also cost you extra. Stuffing your shoes with socks or underwear helps them to keep their shape, as well as helping to save space in your suitcase. Hairdryers and styling appliances — Cruise ships will usually provide a hairdryer in your cabin, and there is no rule against bringing your straightening irons or electric curlers.

Wallet & Money Belt Items

Another important shoe to have on a cruise is a pool slide that will take you from the outer deck to the buffet. Have I mentioned yet that cruises have all-you-can-eat buffets? And that you’re always a few steps away from your next snack while aboard the ship? If you haven’t discovered the joy of packing an extension cord yet, trust me it’ll feel like an unexpected luxury on your next trip. My brother and I will be sharing a room on our upcoming trip, so an extension cord is especially vital to lessen sibling bickering (yes, even as grown adults).

If you plan to purchase wine in port to bring home, you'll also want to pack bubble wrap or wine protector bags to get your bottles home safely. For evenings on board, pack a night light or battery-operated candles so you can find your way to the bathroom in the dark. A small, portable sound machine is helpful for blocking out hallway noise if your cabin is in a noisy area of the ship, such as close to the elevator banks. Many cruise cabin walls and doors are magnetic (Did I just blow your mind?), so I like to pack magnets both as fun decor and for organizational purposes.

Planning to relax and unwind aboard your cruise ship? A good book can help you leave behind the pressures of work and everyday responsibilities. The Magnolia Parks Universe is a series, meaning you can bring multiple books with you depending on the length of your trip.

Cruise Packing List - CLOTHES

For longer cruises, you will be able to do laundry on board. For shorter cruises, just omit a few outfits to suit the length of your trip. I’ll be driving to the cruise port for my trip this summer, which means I don’t have to worry about suitcase restrictions or weight limits.

Cell Phone Case that Holds Your Room Key

Magnetic clips and hooks can help keep paperwork and hats off the in-room desk and couch, while a magnetic whiteboard can be useful for leaving notes for your travel companions. It's always smart to pack a first aid kit for your cruise; make sure it contains seasickness remedies if you're sensitive to the motion of the ocean. Over-the-counter medications are pricey on board, so bring the brands you most commonly use.

Knowing what clothing to pack for a cruise can be especially challenging, and cruise line dress codes don't always match what passes as acceptable on board. The key to maximizing your wardrobe on the high seas is working with a few core pieces of clothing and mixing them up over the course of your itinerary. That's especially handy for evening wear, which tends to be bulkier and take up more luggage space. All those gadgets will need charging, too, so don’t forget those chargers. A power strip (preferably with built-in USB ports) can help ensure that the stateroom has more than enough juice to go around.

These fold up small so they don't take up much room in my suitcase, but they expand to hold shirts, pants, skirts, dresses, and more. Four different colors in each pack means you can assign each person a different color, which means you know you're using "your" straw. And the carabiner clip means it's easy to attach to your lanyard or bag or anything else without damaging it. When I'm not cruising, I use it as a suitcase tag to store my personal info for when I check a bag. If you bring illegal drugs, flammable liquids, explosives, etc., you will not get them back. Some cruise lines will return alcohol to you, but many will not.

A cruise vacation covers a lot of ground, which means you’ll need a lot of flexibility with your wardrobe, too. You can generally count on transitioning from daywear to smart casual on one or two nights per cruise and Evening Chic aboard the ship. And, of course, destination consideration comes into play. You'll want to pack items specific to the activities you aim to do in port. Leave room on your cruise packing list for items that will change based on your destination and planned tours. It's easy to fill a carry-on with footwear alone when packing for a cruise.

I leave mine on my suitcase all the time, and pop the zip closure on the tag portion to add my luggage tag when I reach the cruise terminal. While I am a firm believer that no one should pack anything they don't need, if I plan to check bags, I always bring this digital luggage scale with me. Needless to say, since I wear my “real” clothes for just a few hours – and generally immediately after I showered from the day by the pool or in the ocean – I wear them more than once. I may bring just three or four sundresses and two t-shirts and a couple pairs of shorts. In the dining room on regular nights, dress as you would going out to dinner or drinks with friends. I’ve heard it referred to as “country club casual” .

However, older cruise ships have a sad lack of outlets. This is the ultimate cruise packing list with a free printable cruise packing checklist.
